December in sixth class

Our names are Eve and Magda and we are the bloggers for December.

We sang in City west on the sixth of December for the Hallelujah concert. It was so much fun we had a brilliant time .

We sang at the Civic offices in Clondalkin village on December 11th and we turned on the Christmas lights. We sang 'O Holy Night' , Walking in the Air, ' Silent night' and 'Rudolf the Red nosed Reindeer' .

In Irish we wrote about ' An realt is fearr ' (Our favourite star) , we did a great job!
We printed out pictures of our favourite stars! We wrote Christmas poems in English .

We made stained glass Nativity scenes , snow globes and Christmas wrapping paper in art! We made our own prints using foam.

Our pop art inspired by Andy Warhol.

Sam Maguire came to Scoil Mhuire. We all wore blue and we sang our song 'Sam is coming home'. Here is a picture of Rebecca, her sister Rachel from 4th class and Lauren who play GAA for Round Towers pictured with Sam.

We did a science experiment to test for starch using iodine , if starch was present the items would go a black/purple colour and if no starch was present the item stayed a yellow/red colour.

We read different Bible stories every day and drew symbols from the Jesse Tree. Here are a few samples of our work:

Santa is coming to Scoil Mhuire on Thursday and we have our Carol service on Friday.

We are singing ''Oh holy night'' and ''Silent night'' for our Carol service on Friday and we also learned ''Silent night'' in Sign language .
