Our mini business was a huge success . We sold our Amazeballz and Pipetastics to ALL the children in our school. We made a huge profit of  620 EURO !!!
Thank you to all the children (and parents) who brought in money to support us :)

Here are some pictures of us making our stress balls - we called them Amazeballz.

Here are some pictures of us making our Pipetastics.

We made posters for the hall and posters for each classroom to remind each class to bring in some money. Here we are busy at work.

We sold our Amazeballz and Pipetastics over two days Thursday and Friday. Here are a a few pictures.

We had our Intercultural Day in the hall and we learned about what each class had researched .
6th class learned about how chocolate is made . We looked at Ghana and we learned all about Cadbury's chocolate and all about fairtrade. We also looked at the food miles, and the distance the cocoa beans have to travel from Ghana to Ireland! We worked in groups doing our research, we did a great job .

We had a book fair in our school last week. We had a browsing session and then we had a chance to buy some books!

We read the novel Holes by Louis Sachar . We designed a facebook page for Stanley. We wrote Haiku poems and Limerick poems, we wrote about the plot for a sequel to the book, and we wrote about one characters lives in 20 years from now. Then we watched the DVD and we are got pizza and fizzy drinks!

We made our Confirmation on Wednesday 28th of May. We were very lucky because it was a lovely sunny day and it was a lovely service . The next day we came into school in our outfits and we got our photos taken . Didn't we look fantastic ?!

Some of our art work

We learned all about Australia and the Aborigines and then we did Aboriginal Dot Paintings for Art. Didn't we do a great job!

We looked at pictures from the National Art Gallery in our in-class support groups. Then we chose our favourite painting/picture and we chose whatever media we liked as inspiration for our own art work. Didn't we do a great job.

We did wonderful collage inspired by the artist Joan Miro.

We planted beetroot and bottle gourd in the school garden

Before the Easter holidays we went outside to sow our seeds. We got a window box and we filled it with soil, then we got our Bottle Gourd seeds (from India) and we planted them in the window box. There was no instructions on the packet of seeds, so we are keeping them in the classroom and we are hoping they will grow ;) We hope to transplant them to our school garden when they get stronger.
We water the seeds in the classroom every day and our caretaker John was very good to water them for us when we were on our Easter holidays.
Here are some pictures of us planting the Bottle Gourd seeds.

We also went to the school garden and our caretaker John and our teacher helped us to plant our beetroot seeds. We read the instructions on the packet carefully and followed the instructions on the packet. John helped make a hole with a stick and we put our seeds inside the holes, then we took turns to rake the soil and to gently cover the seeds. We then watered the seeds. Here are some pictures :)

Then teacher took a class photograph :)
